Step four: Teach self- respect!

To build perseverance, you have to teach children to respect themselves! They need to know they are worthy and capable of achieving success.

Your children are one of a kind- tell them that!
Help them to recognize their strengths and special talents!
Help them to be aware of their weaknesses and explain that everyone has them, even you!
Teach them assertiveness (to make their opinions and beliefs and stand by them in a way that doesn't do harm to others)!
Tell them you love them unconditionally!

A great tool to use in this step is SWOT analysis! It is analysis of one's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats! For this step you need to make a simillar drawing to this one:

Talk to your children and help them to fill in the squares. You may ask them these questions:
Strengths: What are you really good at? What do you enjoy doing? What do you do better than other children?
Weaknesses: What do you struggle with? What would you like to be better in?
Opportunities: How can you use your strengths? What can you do with it? What would you like to do with it?
Threats: What could be the obstacles in your way? What could stop you from achieving your goal?

I suggest you, as a parent/teacher, try it first, to get the glimpse of this method!
