Grit can be built!

    Grit is a personality trait.
One that has recently been recognized as the most important for a person's success!

So, your success depends not on the intelligence nor grades at school nor your DNA- it actually depends on a personality trait that can be taught!

Grit can be built! And the first step in building it is: find your purpose!..
- what you are good at,
- what you enjoy doing,
- what captures your attention,
- what makes you happy..

If you've noticed, the key word is YOU and so the starting point is- getting to know yourself!

The procedure is the same for any child- help them realize what they are good at! Talk to your children, observe them, notice patterns that repeat, notice what they do best, what they enjoy doing, which activities make them lose track of time..

Today children spend much time playing computer games and watching videos but even so, there are certain patterns that repeat in these activities too! In a video game there are tasks that require certain skills and when one plays the game often, develops those skills. The difficult part is to find the activity in a real-time-life to fit these skills in, to shift child's attention into a real life situation. As for watching videos- yes, there are far too many that have no educational value at all..but, the common benefit of all of them is perhaps learning a foreign language or discovering some creative hobby or developing ones particular skill.

To conclude, developing grit means discovering patterns in activities we enjoy and finding a way of integrating them in a real life!
